Mira Baldwin

Mira Baldwin is a healthcare operations leader with more than 15 years of experience in critical care, transport medicine, clinical education, and healthcare operations. She currently serves as the Pediatric/Neonatal Operations Manager for UNC Carolina Air Care, where she leads high-acuity transport operations and works to grow and strengthen pediatric and neonatal critical care transport across North Carolina.

Mira’s career has never followed a perfectly straight line. Much of what has shaped her career has come from curiosity and a constant desire to ask, “What else is possible?” From caring for critically ill patients at the bedside and as a flight nurse to moving into education, program development, and operations leadership, she has continually looked for opportunities to learn something new, challenge the status quo, and find better ways to serve patients and the people caring for them.

That same curiosity drives her approach to leadership. Mira believes that good leaders stay willing to learn, surround themselves with people who know things they don't, and aren't afraid to ask difficult questions. She is passionate about developing people, building strong teams, creating systems that help clinicians succeed, and preparing for what comes next, not simply maintaining what already exists.

Mira is an inaugural recipient of the AAMS 40 Under 40 award. But beyond titles, credentials, and career accomplishments, her priorities are simple: family, continuous learning, and leaving things better than she found them. She believes a successful career isn't just about how far you go, but about the people you bring with you and the life you build along the way.
