Retired K-9 Sergeant

Jay “Packy” Dempsey, a retired K-9 Sergeant and law enforcement instructor currently working with the Alabama State Trooper Academy, Regional Police Academies, and faith-based men’s groups.

I teach officers and first responders how to move beyond survival — to decisively win in critical incidents,P.T.S.D. & Addictions.
My signature program, The Fastest 4 Seconds, is built around a real-world encounter I experienced — a one-minute struggle that escalated into a life-altering four-second event involving my K-9, captured on dash camera. That incident now drives my mission: helping others prepare for the moment that changes everything — and how to handle what comes after.

In addition to tactical and mental readiness, I speak candidly about recovery from PTSD, addiction, and the role faith played in rebuilding my life after nearly losing everything. That perspective tends to resonate well across law enforcement, military, and first responder community audiences.
I have a new book and audiobook, “The Fastest 4 Seconds”, released on Amazon and Kindle along with a new podcast, “The Red, Blue, and Brave,” launching soon. I’m currently expanding opportunities to partner with agencies, organizations, and events where this message would be a fit.
If this aligns with your mission, I’d welcome a brief conversation to explore how I can support your team or audience.
